South Africa is rich in renewable resources and the REIPPP has been instrumental in exploring that potential through a number of high-profile projects that have seen the country become the continent’s leading proponent of clean energy. A 2015 report from the World Bank stated that falling technology costs have helped foster growth of renewable consumption, particularly solar PV.
