It has been announced that electricity tariffs in Singapore will fall by an average of 3.7 per cent for the period January 1 to March 31. This follows the drop in tariffs by 2.5 per cent and 2.9 per cent in the third and fourth quarters of 2012 respectively. The tariff reduction is due to lower costs of electricity generation, largely due to lower fuel prices and the adjustment of the non-fuel costs of power generation.
