Siemens to supply turbines to Chinese power plant

Siemens Energy has announced that it will supply two 460 MW F-class gas turbine power islands for the second phase of Shenzhen Energy Corporation ’s Fengda power plant expansion project. Under the terms of the agreement, Siemens will supply two sets of SGT5-4000F gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and related auxiliary equipment for the project. The project will be located in Huizhou city in Guangdong province, and it is expected that the project will start operation in 2023.

The power generation capacity of the completed project will, it is estimated, exceed 2.7 TWh/year. Siemens said that the CO2 and NOx emissions will be significantly reduced.

Siemens and Shenzhen signed a strategic partnership agreement in December 2019 to jointly build energy laboratories and expand cooperation in energy technology R&D, solutions for clean energy, smart energy and digitalisation, and green hydrogen energy.
