Siemens Gamesa awarded order for 128 MW wind project in Brazil

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) has signed its third contract with Voltalia in Brazil to supply the wind project Ventos da Serra do Mel 2 (VSM2). The scope of the contract includes the supply of 36 units of the SG 3.4-132 wind turbine with a flexible power rating of 3.55 MW for the VSM2 wind complex, located in Rio Grande do Norte, in the northeast of Brazil. VSM2 will have a combined total nominal capacity of 128 MW. Commissioning of VSM2 is scheduled for 2020.

This is SGRE’s third contract with Voltalia. The first two contracts were 13 SG 2.1-114 units at the 27 MW Vila Acre I site, and 47 SG 3.4-132units at the 163 MW Ventos da Serra do Mel 1. In total, Voltalia has awarded a total of 318 MW of wind power to Siemens Gamesa since 2016.
