Siemens Energy has won an order for the turnkey construction of the CCGT plant UTE GNA II, located at Port of Açu in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro. Construction has already started. The customer is the project company Gás Natural Açu (GNA).
GNA II will have a capacity of 1.7 GW. The project is valued at approximately €1 billion.
The scope of supply for Siemens Energy includes delivery of the power island, consisting of three HL gas turbines, one steam turbine, four generators, and three HRSGs, in addition to I&C systems. Siemens Energy will also supply long-term O&M of the plant.
Jochen Eickholt, Executive Board Member of Siemens Energy, said: “Our participation in this outstanding project reinforces how our comprehensive LNG-to-Power approach increases value to our customers. This project is located close to the two main gas pipeline systems in Brazil. Our gas turbines for GNA II are ready to burn hydrogen in the future.”
