Ebrahim Rahimpour, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia and Pacific Affairs, has said that Iran’s trade ties with Russia have seen a significant boost following the removal of sanctions, and that a joint comprehensive plan of action (JCPOA) has been implemented.

He also said that Iran and Russia have concluded an agreement under which Russia will build eight nuclear power plants in Iran, as part of the Iranian plan to increase its nuclear capacity to 2000 MW by 2035.
Russia constructed Iran’s first nuclear power plant, the 1000 MW Bushehr plant, and is preparing to build new plants in Iran.
