A power unit at the Rostov nuclear power plant in southern Russia that had been disconnected on 23 August as a result of a turbine defect was reconnected to the grid on 25 August, according to a report from TASS news agency, citing Russia’s state nuclear energy company Rosatom.
The Rostov nuclear power plant is the largest energy generating facility in southern Russia, with a total capacity of 4071 MW. It provides around 75 per cent of the total power generation in the Rostov region and is connected to the grid of other southern regions.
