Rosatom has announced that it has been granted a licence to construct two units at the Paks II nuclear power plant site by the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority (OAH). The units will consist of VVER-1200 reactors.
The two units, five and six, will have a guaranteed lifetime of 60 years. Rosatom’s subsidiary ASE JSC is acting as the main contractor for the project. It will be equipped with automated active and passive safety systems. Pre-construction work is already underway at the site.
