The new power plant will help Qatar reach its goal of reaching an overall solar capacity of 4 GW by 2030.

The new solar project will be added to QatarEnergy’s solar power portfolio, which includes the existing 800 MW Al-Kharsaah solar power plant inaugurated in 2022, and to two solar power projects that the company is building in Ras Laffan and Mesaieed, with a total capacity of 875 MW, and which are expected to start production before the end of 2024.
