The PDL-Greene Solar Power joint venture formed by Project Development Ltd of Hong Kong and Greene Consortium of Bangladesh is seeking approval to set up a 30 MW solar PV power plant in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

Shiekh Abu Mahadi, MD of PDL-Greene Solar, said that the project would require an investment of $36 million and will be operational by 2024. The project will involve 69 000 solar modules across 114 acres. Mahadi said: “Our funds are 100 per cent secured as our partners have given confirmation.”

The joint venture has plans to further expand the project by 170 MW, which would take the solar farm to a total of 200 MW.
