Orix to install 23.4 MW of solar systems at Japanese airports

Orix Corporation , the Japanese financial services group, has signed a PPA to supply 23.4 MW of solar systems for two Japanese airports.

Orix will install and operate PV systems at Kansai International Airport and Osaka International Airport through a special purpose company. These will consist of a solar plant and a rooftop system on the international cargo building at Kansai International Airport with a combined capacity of 22.8 MW. A 0.6 MW rooftop system will be installed on top of the terminal buildings at Osaka International Airport.

The installations are scheduled to start operation in Spring 2025. The facilities will supply about 20 per cent of the electricity needs of the Kansai Airports Group .
