The world’s first 16 MW offshore wind turbine has started to generate electricity on being connected to the grid at the offshore wind power plant in Fujian, China.

The wind turbine can generate over 66 TWh per year.

According to the WFO (World Forum Offshore Wind) global report, in 2022, the global offshore wind capacity was 57.609 GW, of which China had 26.563 GW, UK 13.601 GW, and 8.043 GW.
