Indonesia’s state-run electricity company PT PLN has announced February 2024 will be the start of operations for the solar power plant currently being built in the new capital city Nusantara under development in the province of East Kalimantan.
Ruly Firmansyah, President Director of PLN Nusantara Power , said: “By February next year, the solar power plant will start operating with an initial capacity of 10 MW. Development of the plant, which will have a final total capacity of 50 MW, has begun.” He added that the solar power plant will start operating at full capacity in May 2024. He also said that the plant would be equipped with a battery energy storage system (BESS).
