India has moved closer to signing a tripartite Inter-Government Agreement (IGA) involving Russia and Bangladesh for Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant near Dhaka, Bangladesh. First concrete was poured into the reactor building foundation at the end of November. Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant will be Bangladesh’s first nuclear reactor.
This is the first occasion where India has concluded such a tripartite civil nuclear project.
