Norway’s Scatec to build 3 GW wind project in Egypt

A spokesman for President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt said that the country was considering cooperation with Norway’s Scatec for construction of a 3 GW wind power generation project and other renewable energy projects. The projects will be carried out within the framework of the national strategy for clean energy production.

El-Sisi said in a meeting with Terje Pilskog, CEO of Scatec, that Egypt is keen to cooperate with Norway in the field of new and renewable energy.

The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has already agreed to study possible cooperation opportunities with Scatec in the field of green ammonia production.
