Nordex has won a contract from Acciona Energía to supply wind turbines for the 131 MW San Juan de Marcona wind farm in southwestern Peru. Nordex will deliver 23 of its N163/5.X wind turbines from the Delta 4000 series.
The turbines will have a rotor diameter of 163m and a hub height of 148m. The wind turbines are due to be commissioned by the end of 2023.
Acconia Energía will be responsible for construction. The company will invest $180 million in the wind farm. The wind facility will be linked to Peru’s National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN) through a 33 km, 220 kV transmission line, which will be built as part of the project.
