More flexible solar tiles available

The Chinese renewable energy firm Hanergy has announced that it has introduced a new generation of Hantile building product for solar panels. It describes this as being lighter, thinner, more flexible, and having superior performance.

The new tile features a single rather than a double layer of glass, with each tile weighing only 5.2kg. This, combined with its flexible structure, improves ease of installation. Hanergy says that it is using ultra-white tempered glass, which has a transmittance level of 91.5 per cent, and is durable and able to withstand heavy impacts.
