Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS) has established MHPS (Philippines) Plant Services Corporation as a new company to provide services for thermal power generation facilities in the Philippines. The service company will serve the Philippine market. MHPS (Philippines) has its head office and factory in Batangas in southern Luzon.

MHPS has received several contracts in the Philippines, and has provided equipment for both thermal and geothermal generation facilities. Electricity demand is rising in the country in line with economic growth, driving the need to modernise facilities, expand capacity, resulting in greater need for service contracts.
