Abdelrahman Al-Jalli, an official at GECOL, said that the connection had been made by GECOL without foreign assistance, and that it will help decrease the number of power outages across the country, especially in the west and south, which suffered from over 12 hours of blackouts a day last month. He said: “We’ve restored the links between Benghazi and the Green Mountain’s electric grids, and this shall bring good power generation for the whole country. People will notice the difference very soon.”

He also thanked the maintenance teams for their devotion and great efforts in restoring the link between the two regions’ power networks.
