Kohler acquires UK’s Clarke Energy

Kohler has announced that it has acquired the UK-based Clarke Energy. The terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

Clarke provides engineering, construction, installation and maintenance services to gas engines used in power plants. It a distributor of GE reciprocating engines in 19 countries. A spokesperson for Kohler said that all of the 1100 Clarke employees at service locations around the world will be retained in the integration. Clarke will be integrated into Kohler’s power group division. All of its locations will be retained in the integration, and it will maintain its existing corporate branding.

David Kohler, President and CEO of Kohler, said: “Clarke Energy’s end-to-end capabilities are highly regarded around the world, and the company’s products and services are an excellent fit within our existing power systems business. We’re excited about this acquisition because it adds the distribution of large gas generators – viewed as a clean power source – to our product portfolio. We believe Clarke Energy’s prime and continuous gaseous solutions are an ideal complement to our existing diesel generator offering for standby applications.
