India’s Kakrapar nuclear power plant unit 3 synchronised to grid

India’s Department of Atomic Energy has announced that unit 3 of Kakrapar Nuclear Power Plant (KAPP) has been synchronised with the grid. Anil Kakoddar, former Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, said that 15 more such units in fleet mode. He said: “Extremely happy to know that India's first 700 MW PHWR, KAPP-3, has been synchronised to the grid on 10 January. This is a true example of indigenous technology developed and built in India, with 15 more such units to follow in fleet mode.”
