India’s Adani Enterprises launches green energy business

Adani Enterprises , the Indian coal mining company, has set up a new subsidiary to produce green hydrogen and equipment for solar and wind power generation.

Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL) will produce low-carbon electricity and manufacture major components and materials needed for such projects, while also producing green hydrogen. ANIL will make wind turbines, solar modules, batteries and electrolysers. It will also develop and operate projects for low-carbon fuels and chemical synthesis.

Adani Enterprises said that business operations of the new company will be launched “in due course.”

Adani Group said that it was committed to spending $70 billion to become the world’s largest renewable energy company by 2030. It also announced plans to produce the cheapest hydrogen globally. Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) plans to have 45 GW renewable energy generation capacity by 2030.
