IKEA powers Nordic operations with 100 per cent renewable energy

The chief sustainability officer at the IKEA group, Steve Howard, said: “At IKEA, we invest into renewable energy because it is the right thing to do for people, the planet and for the future of our business. Achieving energy independence in the Nordic countries is a big step towards our goal to produce as much renewable energy as all the energy we use globally by 2020.”

In becoming energy independent in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark, IKEA matches a similar milestone first achieved by its Canadian operations last year.
