The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) have announced that they will jointly be supporting the Mambilla Hyrdo Power Project in Nigeria. The financial institutions have promised jointly a $5 billion loan to the project, said the Nigerian Vice President Namadi Sambo. He said that the AfDB will contribute $3 billion, and the IDB will contribute £2 billion.
The Mambilla project is to be located at Gembu in Taraba state, and it is planned to generate 2.6 GW.
