Hubco announces start of commercial operation of 1320MW coal-fired power plant

China Power Hub Generation Company (CPHGC) has successfully started commercial operation of its 1320MW coal-fired power plant built under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) early harvest project. CPHGC is a joint venture between the Hub Power Company (HIBCO) and China Power International Holding.

The commercial operation of the power plant started on August 17. The project was completed with a total cost of $2 billion. The plant will add 9TWh to the national grid annually.
