GE Renewable Energy is partnering with the governments of Canada and Québec to expand its wind turbine blade facility at Gaspé, Canada. The parties announced their plans to jointly invest in the expansion of the facility owned by LM Wind Power, a GE Renewable Energy business.
GE said that the investments will enable the company to expand the facility to meet the growing demand for renewable energy across North America. The expansion will result in the creation of 200 jobs.
The Gaspé plant started operations in 2005 and was previously expanded in 2017. The plant has manufactured over 10 000 blades to date.
