Under the terms of the agreement, GE will provide long-term maintenance services for 10 power plants in Algeria. GE will train more than 1000 workers, and create about 300 jobs.

In 2013, under a similar arrangement, GE signed a $2.7 billion deal with Sonelgaz to supply gas turbines and other services to nine power plants.
