GE Power launches new HVDC control system at CIGRE 2018

GE Power’s Grid Solutions business has unveiled a number of product innovations at CIGRE 2018 to adapt to a more digitalised, decentralised, and decarbonised energy landscape. It said that a modern grid is key to integrating renewable energy resources effectively as they are forecast to represent two-thirds of net global electricity by 2050.

GE Power Grid Solutions business launched the following new products and services at CIGRE 2018:

The eLumina HVDC Control System, with a smaller footprint and fewer in-field connections to simplify system architecture, and improve maintenance and operational efficiency.

F35 Gas Insulated Switchgear with 72.5 kV.

Digital Transformers, Intelligent Digital Substations, Asset Lifecycle Management Services, and advanced EMS with full WAMS enhancement to enable the grid to recalibrate itself in real-time, allowing it to balance demand and integrate multiple-generation resources reliably.
