Fukui Governor to clear restart of two Takahama reactors

Issei Nishikawa, Governor of Fukui prefecture, will give his consent for the restart of reactors 3 and 4 at Kansai Electric Power Company ’s (Kepco’s) Takahama plant, as the Japanese Government seeks to bring more reactors online. The Governor’s consent is necessary to restart the reactors.

The restart of the reactors, which have cleared stricter safety regulations introduced following the Fukushima crisis, would follow two units at Kyushu Electric Power Company’s Sendai nuclear plant into Kagoshima prefecture that resumed operations this year in the first nuclear power generation under the tighter safety regulations.
