The Anpara plant has 9 units with a total power generation capacity of 3830 MW.

According to reports, the 125 kV switchboard controlling the Singrauli transmission line was heavily damaged in the fire, with one source describing it as “completely destroyed”. In addition, the fire has caused a shutdown of the 400 kV line between Obra and Sonbhadra, leading to a power shortage in the area.

Police and plant officials investigating the cause of the fire have yet to ascertain the exact cause of the fire, but say that they suspect a short-circuit.
