FFC invests in Pakistan’s first 50 MW wind energy project

Pakistan’s Fauji Fertiliser Company (FFC) has announced that it plans to invest $135 million to establish what it describes as Pakistan’s first 50 MW wind energy project.

FFC Energy Limited (FFCEL), a subsidiary of FFC, is in the final stage of completing a 50 MW wind energy project in Jhampir. A company official said that the project will be in commercial operation delivering full capacity to the national grid by the end of the year.

FFCEL said that in this first phase, it was installing 33 wind turbines. It said that it was planning a second phase to increase capacity at the site to a total of 250 MW.
