EthosEnergy has announced that it will supply and install a control system retrofit for five GE LM6000 gas turbines at West Valley Power Station in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. The plant is owned by Utah Municipal Power Agency. EthosEnergy will also provide virtualised Balance of Plant Controls and a new plant historian.
Kurt Berg, Senior Vice President of Optimization and Upgrades for EthosEnergy, said that the company has now completed over 50 installations on LM6000 units. The work will help West Valley Power Station reduce its start times.
Jerame Blevins, official with Utah Municipal, said: “EthosEnergy’s experience as the leading independent retrofitter coupled with its extensive knowledge on LM6000 units made it our first choice for this project. It’s ability to supply several upgrades including cold weather improvements, swift start, vibration upgrades, and a training simulator added maximum value to both the work and our power station.”
