State-owned utility Elektroprivreda Bosne I Hercegovine (EPBiH) will install a 56 MW PV plant at the site of an ash and slag dump at the Tuzla coal-fired power plant in the north of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The solar park will be called Divkovići 1 and 2.
Local officials have agreed the city’s land use plan to enable construction of the PV facility.
EPBiH has also presented its plans to grow biomass on land belonging to its coal mines. It intends to use fast-growing willow to partly replace coal in thermal power plants at Kreka and Breza. One hectare has already been planted at each site. In due course, these two sites and Đurđevik will be expanded to 15 hectares in total.
