Egypt secures $4 billion of financing for new gas fired plants

The new Beni Suef, Burullus and New Capital power plants – each with a capacity of 4.8 GW – is set to increase Egypt’s energy generation capacity by more than 50 per cent to meet increasing power demand. The project will feature Siemens H-class turbines.

Siemens will also build up to 12 wind farms with 2 GW capacity in the Gulf of Suez and the West Nile areas. The plants will feature 600 turbines.
