EDF has announced that it has filed a binding offer to buid six third-generation European Pressurised Reactors (EPR), each of 1650 MW, to the state-run Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) for the Jaitapur nuclear power project in Maharashtra. The proposed project will have a total generating capacity of 9900 MW.
EDF’s offer includes detailed configuration of the reactors, and the associated commercial terms and conditions for supplying engineering studies and equipment for six reactors. EDF will guarantee the performance of the reactors for a predefined period of time, and will also offer training for NPCIL’s operating teams.
