Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) has started a competitive tender process to select a developer to build and operate the Al Qusais Landfill Gas Power Generation plant on an IPP basis.
The plant will have a capacity of 6-12 MW, with the final capacity to be determined based on the tenders. It will utilise landfill gas extracted from the Al Qusais Landfill site. The power generated by the project will be purchased by DEWA under a long-term PPA.
Ownership of the project company will be shared with the Dubai Green Fund, the first specialised green investment fund in MENA, launched under the funding pillar of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050.
Submission deadline is 8 May 2024.
