Doosan Enerbility has won an EPC contract to build a 500 MW gas-fired power project worth $200 million from Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC).
The plant will be located in the Ras Abu Fontas area, 18 km southeast of Doha, capital of Qatar.
Doosan Enerbility is leading a consortium with China National Power Corporation Shandong Electric Power Construction Third Engineering Company (SEPCO-3).
Doosan Enerbility will oversee the design and major equipment procurement for the power plant. It will also be responsible for commissioning.
The plant will consist of two 250 MW F-class gas turbines and expected to enter commercial operations by January 2027.
