Doosan Enerbility has signed a $612 million with the Saudi Electric Power Corporation (SEPC) to build the 1.8 GW PP12 CCGT power plant in Saudi Arabia.
The project is located 150 km northwest of Riyadh. Doosan will design and supply major equipment for the power plant, scheduled for completion in 2028.
This order follows a recent $1.5 billion contract to build two CCGTs in Saudi Arabia with a combined capacity of 3.6 GW. Doosan secured the EPC contract for construction of Rumah 1 and Nairiyah 1 power plants, each of 1.8 GW, with the Korea Electric Power -led consortium. Both projects are scheduled for completion in 2028.
The power generated at the three power plants will be sold to the Saudi Power Procurement Company under 25-year contracts.
