The project is located 150 km northwest of Riyadh. Doosan will design and supply major equipment for the power plant, scheduled for completion in 2028.

This order follows a recent $1.5 billion contract to build two CCGTs in Saudi Arabia with a combined capacity of 3.6 GW. Doosan secured the EPC contract for construction of Rumah 1 and Nairiyah 1 power plants, each of 1.8 GW, with the Korea Electric Power -led consortium. Both projects are scheduled for completion in 2028.

The power generated at the three power plants will be sold to the Saudi Power Procurement Company under 25-year contracts.
