Dongguan Ningzhou plant to deliver 2.4 GW in China

GE Vernova has announced that the Dongguan Ningzhou CCGT power plant in Guangdong province, China, has officially begun operations, delivering up to 2.4 GW. The plant is powered by three 9HA.02 gas turbines.

GE Vernova’s H-Class gas turbine portfolio currently has the capability to burn up to 50 per cent by volume of hydrogen blended with natural gas and with a future technology pathway to 100 per cent.

China said it aims to achieve a carbon emissions peak by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. The country is committed to reducing coal’s share of its energy mix and is expediting construction of CCGT plants like Dongguan Ningzhou.
