China’s thermal power generation in September rose 8.9 per cent from the equivalent a year earlier, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
NBS said that thermal power generation, mainly coal but including gas-fired power plants, was 545.1 TWh. This was a greater increase than the six per cent rise in power generation from all sources to 802.4 TWh.
Hydropower fell 14.6 per cent from a year earlier to 119.9 TWh.
