Chinese power generation grew 14.9 per cent year-on-year to 3421.6 TWh in the first 10 months of 2010, including 563 TWh from hydropower, 2737.7 TWh from thermal power and 59.7 TWh from nuclear power.
The figures from the China Electricty Council also showed national electricity consumption totalled 3484 TWh in the first 10 months, including 340 TWh in October alone.
Between January 1 and October 31, installed power capacity grew 10.2 per cent year-on-year to 889GW, including 178GW from hydropower, 676GW from thermal power, 11GW from nuclear power, and 24GW from wind power. In the first 10 months, national on-grid power supply and distribution was 3129.4 TWh and 2951.6 TWh respectively.
National power capacity investment totalled 268.9 billion yuan in the first 10 months, including 56.3 billion yuan on hydropower, 99.7 billion yuan on thermal power, 47.5 billion yuan on nuclear power, and 64 billion yuan on wind power. National power grid investment totalled 224.9 billion yuan in the same period.
