The installed capacity of solar PV connected to the China State Grid, China's largest power grid operator, in September was up 415 per cent year on year, China’s State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) has said.
Solar PV generation capacity connected to the China State Grid stood at 2710 MW at the end of September, about 2180 MW higher than the same period last year, according to SERC spokesperson Tan Rongyao.
The China State Grid also purchased 2.48 billion kilowatt hours of PV power in the first nine months of 2012, up 537 per cent year on year.
The main bottleneck for the solar sector is the difficulty it faces in connecting to the state power grid, prompting the China State Grid to announce on October 26th a series of measures to assist connecting solar power plants to the grid.
