A notice on the NDRC’s website claimed that recent hikes in the price of natural gas had raised generation costs and required adjustment of power prices accordingly.

Specific price changes would be decided imminently on a provincial level, the notice indicated.

The notice also confirmed that coal-fired power prices have been cut in order to reflect the falling coal prices borne by generators.
