GE has announced that Caithness Energy has ordered three of GE’s 7HA.02 gas turbines for its 1875 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle power plant at Guernsey Power Station in Guernsey County, Ohio, USA. In addition to the 7HA.02 gas turbines, the order also includes HRSGs and steam turbines for each gas turbine. GE will also service the facility under a multi-year services agreement and provide digital solutions to combine equipment sensor data with predictive analytics through GE’s Asset Performance Management (APM) software and managed services. The APM software solution will monitor assets at Guernsey, and predictive analytics will proactively recommend appropriate maintenance to enhance plant reliability.
Caithness Energy partnered with Apex Power Group to develop the Guernsey Power Station in the Utica and Marcellus shale region. Gemma Power Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Argan, will be the EPC company responsible for the project, which is scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2022.
