Andhra Pradesh targets setting up 33 GW hydropower storage plants

The Andhra Pradesh energy department is planning to set up pumped hydropower storage projects in various districts in the Indian state. These projects will have a total capacity of 33.24 GW, and will be located in the Kadapa, Kurnool, and Anantapur districts.

Energy Secretary Srikant Nagulapalli said that these pumped hydropower storage projects will improve the power supply position in the state. He said: “These will enable the consumers to get quality power. It will also help to promote industrialisation.”
