ABB has launched ABB Ability™ Collaborative Operations for Power Generation & Water. ABB said that the new operating model enables power generation companies to improve operations and maintenance using digital technologies to collaborate with dedicated operations experts based in the ABB Ability Collaborative Operations Centre in Genoa, Italy. The Collaborative Operations Centre enables better asset performance, higher safety and security, reduced risk, and lower costs through information insights.
ABB Ability Collaborative Operations uses the increased amount of available data to provide more value to customers through information analytics. Collaborative Operations is proven to provide: 20 per cent extension of machine life through better management of assets, processes, and risks; a 50 per cent reduction in maintenance costs through the use of predictive rather than preventative and reactive maintenance; and deeper visibility into equipment, plant, and fleet performance, enabling a better understanding of performance capability and operating boundaries.
Kevin Kosisko, Managing Director of ABB’s Power Generation and Water Business, said: “ABB Ability Collaborative Operations will help us bring the benefits of digitalisation to our customers in power generation and water by giving them information insights that lead to better business decisions.”
